La-la-lawsuits: A Look at April’s Finest Litigious Moments

Merlin has just settled a long-running copyright claim against Sirius XM Radio related to the portable Stiletto; the $1.6 million settlement technically involves the pre-acquisition Sirius.  The Stiletto allowed users to record satellite streams, which is just the type of non-standard use Sirius hopes to envelope into its direct licensing deal structures.

The British High Court has ruled that ISPs including Sky, TalkTalk, O2 and Virgin Media must block access to The Pirate Bay.

The New York Supreme Court dismissed a lawsuit against the Recording Academy brought by Latin jazz musician Bobby Sanabria and other artists over the removal of certain Grammy categories, including Best Latin Jazz.
